Three steps

Choose. Brush. Download.

  1. Choose a photo

Drop it in, paste it, or snap one with your phone camera.

  2. Brush what should go

Paint over it, or just tap it — people, text and wires are found for you.

  3. Download the clean photo

Full size, no watermark. Undo anything you don't like first.

All tools

What do you want to remove?

Pick the job — the same eraser opens, already set up for it.

Click it or brush it

Select the way the object asks to be selected

A sign is a rectangle. A person is a click. A wire is a tap. A stray hair on a product is a two-pixel brush. EraseObject gives you all of them and never forces one — and every selection can be refined with the add and subtract brush before you erase.

  • Smart Select

Click an object and an on-device segmentation model outlines it. Not quite right? Pick a smaller or larger alternative, or add and remove areas with more clicks.
  • Brush, lasso, rectangle

Precise manual control, sized in photo pixels so zooming never changes what a stroke covers.
  • People, Text, Wire

Purpose-built finders for the three things people remove most, all running locally.
  • Shadow assist

After a Smart or People selection, the attached shadow is proposed in amber. Include it with one click — never silently.

Private by design

Your photo does not need to leave your computer

EraseObject is built differently from typical AI photo tools. The AI model comes to your browser instead of your photo going to an AI server.

  • Your image stays on your device

Decoded, edited and encoded in the tab. There is no upload endpoint to send it to.

  • No credits, ever

Repeated removals cost nothing to serve, so nothing is counted or charged.

  • Works offline

Once the eraser model is cached, open, erase and export without a connection.

  • No server queue

Nothing waits behind other people's jobs; your device does the work as soon as you press Erase.

Step by step

Select → Erase → Refine → Download

  1. 1

    Open a photo

Drop, paste or choose an image.

  2. 2

    Select what should disappear

Brush it, click it with Smart Select, or use People, Text or Wire mode.

  3. 3

    Erase locally

On-device AI reconstructs the missing area from the pixels around it.

  4. 4

    Refine

Undo, restore, expand the mask or try another result.

  5. 5

    Download

Export the cleaned image at the best available resolution.

Built for detail

Precision when it matters, speed when it does not

Only the pixels you selected are replaced — every other pixel is copied through exactly, at the photo's full resolution.

  • Structure Repair

Walls, skirting, shelves and horizons are continued through the gap before the AI fills it — the difference between a bent floor seam and a straight one.
  • Try another result

Up to four candidates from the same selection: wider context, a mirrored pass, or texture copied from nearby. Pick the one that looks right.
  • Restore anything

Paint the original back with the Restore brush, restore a single history step, or undo step by step — history keeps only the changed area, so it runs many steps deep.
  • Zoom to the pixel

5% to 1600%, a navigator at high zoom, and a mask that stays aligned at every level.
  • Compare three ways

Hold to see the original, drag a split divider, or toggle between them.
  • Clean up photo mode

Mark several distractions and erase once — each is rebuilt separately from its own surroundings.

Works offline after the first download

The models are files. Your browser keeps them.

The first time you press Erase, the editor tells you exactly what it needs to download — the eraser model and the engine that runs it — and how large they are, before a byte moves. They are stored by your browser and reused for every later edit, on this page and on every other page of this site.

Smart Select and People mode each have their own model and are only downloaded if you use them. The AI performance panel in the editor lists every model with its size, shows which are ready, and lets you remove any or all of them.

Good to know

Questions

Does EraseObject upload my photos?
No. The photo is decoded, edited and exported inside your browser. There is no upload endpoint on this site. What the site does download is AI model files — those travel to you; your photo never travels anywhere.
Is EraseObject free?
Yes. There are no credits, no per-image fee and no account. Because the AI runs on your own device, an erase costs us nothing to serve, so there is nothing to meter.
Does it add a watermark?
No. The file you download is your photo with the selected areas rebuilt — nothing added.
Can I remove a person?
Yes. People mode finds the people who stand out from the background so you can click the one to remove, and offers to include their shadow. People who are tiny or partly hidden are often easier to select with Smart Select or the brush.
Can I remove text?
Yes. Text mode finds lettering locally and lets you pick which blocks to clear; the mask covers the edges and outline of each glyph. It locates text — it never reads it. Use it on your own images, captions and signs, not on other people's ownership marks.
Can I remove wires or power lines?
Yes. In Wire mode you tap a wire once and it is traced across the frame; you can change the width, sensitivity and how far it follows. Removing a false segment takes one stroke of the subtract brush.
Can I remove multiple objects?
Yes. Mark as many as you like and press Erase once — separate objects are rebuilt one at a time, each from its own surroundings, which looks cleaner than filling them all as one large hole.
What image formats are supported?
JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF (first frame), BMP and AVIF where your browser can decode it, plus HEIC and TIFF through decoders that run on the device (TIFF: 8- or 16-bit greyscale, RGB or palette; uncompressed, LZW, PackBits or Deflate). You can save as PNG, JPG, WebP, or AVIF where the browser can write it.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. The editor switches to a bottom toolbar on phones, supports pinch-zoom and two-finger pan, and defaults to the Fast quality mode to keep memory use low. Very large photos are offered as a lighter working copy on phones.
Why did the AI make a strange result?
The AI invents what was behind the object from what surrounds it. It struggles when the hole is large, when the object touches the frame edge, and when straight lines or repeating patterns cross it. Try another result, give it more context, turn on Structure Repair for walls and floors, or erase large objects in smaller pieces.
How do I get the best result?
Include the object's edges and its shadow, remove one thing at a time on busy patterns, use Wire mode for thin lines, and zoom in to check. If an outline of the object survives, use “Remove remaining edge”.
Does it work offline?
Yes, once the page and the eraser model have been loaded once. After that you can open, select, erase and export without a connection. Features whose models you have not downloaded yet will say so instead of failing.
Why does it need to download an AI model?
Because the AI runs on your device instead of a server. The eraser model is 25.4 MB, plus the engine that runs it (13.6 MB, or 25.5 MB for GPU acceleration). Smart Select adds 42.5 MB and People mode 24.7 MB — each only if you use it. All are cached, and you can see and remove them under AI performance.
What happens to my images after I close the page?
They are gone. The photo, selections and edit history live in the tab's memory only. The single exception is a project you explicitly save on this device, which stays in your browser's storage until you delete it.
Can I restore part of an edit?
Yes. The Restore brush paints original pixels back anywhere, any history step can be restored on its own, and every edit can be undone.
What is the maximum image size?
Photos up to 24 megapixels are edited at full resolution on a computer (12 on iPhone and iPad). Larger photos — up to 120 megapixels — are offered as a lighter working copy, and the export dialog says so before you save.
Does the rest of the image change?
No. Only pixels inside the (slightly expanded) selection are replaced. Every other pixel is copied through exactly; the photo is not resized or regenerated, and the only re-encoding is the one you choose when you save.
Can I use it for product photos?
Yes — the Product preset uses Smart Select with a tight mask and the highest quality mode, so stands, hooks, threads and dust go while the product edge stays crisp.
Can I use it for real-estate photos?
Yes — the Real-estate preset turns on Structure Repair, which continues wall edges, skirting, floor seams and horizons through the gap before the AI fills it.
Can I clean many images?
Yes, when the same thing sits in the same place — a fixed studio stand, a sensor spot, your own overlay. Draw the mask once and apply it to a whole set, or review them one by one, then download a ZIP. It all runs in this tab.
